A Brazilian native and a Quebecoise stripper form a mutually beneficial friendship in this drama from French/Canadian filmmaker Guylaine Dionne. Brazilian student Priscilla Paredes was studying in Montreal when her student visa expired. Now, Priscilla's only hope for remaining in Canada is to go to work as a stripper at Elixir, a seedy downtown strip club. There, the desperate illegal comes into contact with local dancer Milagro. Ironically, Milagro longs to go to Brazil, and the two dancers strike up a warm friendship based on their tenuous connection. Later, as Milagro welcomes Priscilla into her secret life and introduces her to her young daughter Chloé, Priscilla returns the favor by teaching her new friend how to fight for what she wants no matter what the cost. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide
